Licensing Policy

DiceLock Security's Licensing Policy for DiceLock™ Algorithm


1. The product to be licensed consists of DiceLock™ algorithm which is protected under a patent registered in the USA and with the European Patent Office (see map). Patent owner ('OWNER') holds all the relevant rights related to the algorithm DiceLock™, including the patents.
2. The algorithm has been implemented in C++ source code and corresponding documentation which are protected by copyright. A number of licenses for the algorithm have been successfully granted up to now by OWNER.
3. DiceLock Security is interested in finding licensees and distributors for the dissemination of the algorithm mainly in Europe, the USA, and Japan in various forms and for various fields of use. Any use of the algorithm for commercial purposes (see below) is subject to a license from OWNER and any misuse of the algorithm will be prosecuted.
4. 'Commercial Purposes' shall mean any revenue generating purpose including but not limited to
i) using the algorithm for company internal purposes (subject to a company license)
ii) incorporating an application software containing the algorithm into any hardware and/or software and distributing such hardware and/or software and/or providing services related thereto to others (subject to a product license).
iii) using a product containing an application software that uses the algorithm not covered by a DiceLock™ license (subject to an end-user license).
5. DiceLock Security welcomes software developers' free use of the algorithm to be incorporated in their software and recommends that they register with DiceLock Security in order to be kept updated of any further developments. Such free use is, however, subject to a notice, to all users of such developed products that a license must be purchased from DiceLock Security for any use for commercial purposes.
6. Use other than for commercial purposes is strictly limited to non-revenue generating data transfer between private individuals. The use by government agencies, non-profit organizations, etc. is considered as use for commercial purposes but may be subject to special conditions.
